Group and permissions

Hello,
I try to setup gallery to make something special but it doesn't work.
I have albums like : 2009, 2010, 2011, etc
In EACH one, i have sub album which are ps, ms, gs, etc
And i have created user 2009ps which can only access album 2009, sub album ps, user 2009ms, which can only access album 2009, sub album ms, etc with 2010, 2011, etc
So i have created all the albums, all the sub albums, all the users, all the groups with the same name as user. So group 2009ms, 2009ps, etc

When i try to set the permission, on album 2009, sub album ps, i click on set permissions on ps album, i tried differents things, but nothing is working.
Does anybody have a solution ?
