The XMP module has already been able read tag, rating, face, and title / comment information from Windows Live Photo Gallery photos. I was informed that Picasa now saves XMP face information within the jpeg files. I have now extended my XMP module to be able to handle the new format. I believe the revamped module is now ready to for public testing. Download the attached file, unzip it, and move the 'xmp' folder into your module folder. I do not use Picasa myself, so I will only know about bugs if I am told about them. Note that as with the WLPG faces, the face location information will only be used if the photo annotation module is also installed. Tags, titles, and comments will also be extracted from the XMP data, and checked against already extracted information (such as from EXIF data or the default tags searching). You can also specify that the Gallery only run through either the WLPG or the Picasa scanning on item uploads -- this is useful if you only run one or the other and want to save some CPU cycles. Please report bugs! ----

Hi folks,
Version 2.0 of the module is out. The xmp module now properly reads Picasa face data from pictures, and the task for rescanning files should work as well. More information and a download is available here: http://kott.fm/tomek/2012/11/04/xmp-module-version-2-0/.
