upgrade to 304 fail?

I've tried to upgrade Gallery from 3.0.2 to 3.0.4, but although I am following the intructions perfectly, and the screen comes up telling me the upgrade is successful, my Dashboard still says I am running 3.0.2

I've tried wiping the entire Gallery folder off the server, and uploading/unziping the gallery-3.0.4. zip. Still getting nothing but the old 3.0.2, even though it tells me the upgrade was successfull.
