Hi! I know that I can enter a description for the album, but in most themes, the description is written very small in the sidebar. I'm searching for a possibility to add a textbox above the pictures in a gallery which nobody would miss. I want to write something like "Please ask before using any pictures!" or something like that!

Have you tried using captionator?

For generic text like "Please ask before using any pictures!", me thinks it's best to put that on the theme template instead of every album picture.

If it is going to be site wide and not album specific then editing the theme is the way to go like @SweetyCrunchyPanda said.
The description of the photo is below but could be moved to above the photo with a custom them.

I found out that in the dark version of the "clean canvas theme" is the text with album name and description above each album hidden. In the light version not ;) So I just changed from dark to light and could now set the album description with html-tags in it - work well enough :)
