Is it possible to use photos already stored in disk

Hello
I have a Qnap that has already stored my photos on
/share/Qmultimedia/Photos
ANd inside many folders containing my photos

Is there any way to add all these content to the gallery database?
I have create a ln in the gallery /var folder to my photo folder but nothing gallery is still saying that there is no photos in my system

Anybody can help me?
