Admin theme and gallery theme - what is the difference? |

One theme controls the view/layout and display of the gallery and the other controls the layout and view of the admin section of gallery. Why two you ask: the reason is that the admin section is very rarely visited by the end user and thus does not need to be themed as much.
It lessens the development time of the theme developer since they don't need to spend time working on sections that really don't need to be themed.
I don't know of any 3rd party admin themes.
