Gallery3 and readynas nvx

Hi I've been looking for the last few days about this permission error but i can't seem to make heads of it, if i change my .htaccess and unhash the rewrite section i get error 403. then i read that i need to allow overwrite file info and options but i don't know where to put this??? i have php on the readynas but i am stuck any ideas
