When I tried to visit our photo gallery I'm taken to the Gallery 2.3 Upgrader. Do I have to upgrade? Why did this page suddenly appear over our photo gallery?

When I did try to upgrade just so the photo gallery would come back there was an error during the Storage Directory Permissions and that step failed. The error message is below.

Error: Some files and or directories in your storage directory are not writeable by the webserver user. Run chown -R webserverUser /hermes/bosweb/web019/b198/ipw.hmc1/public_html/photogallery/g2data/ OR run chmod -R 777 /hermes/bosweb/web019/b198/ipw.hmc1/public_html/photogallery/g2data/.

Ideally I would like to just keep the gallery how it was before without messing around with the upgrade, but if I have to upgrade that's ok, I'm just not sure what to do to make the Storage Directory Permisssions step pass

I noticed the permisssions for the g2data folder weren't set at 777, I changed them to that along with the versions.dat page and still no luck.
