"Gallery album" as "music album"

This is perhaps not the right place, but anyway.
Would it be a very big deal to make Gallery work as a music album ?
My idea is as follows
The album should consist of:
a coverpicture
a descriptive text
a mp3 file
all having the same prefix.
When uploading the files the album should put the files in the right place by looking at the extension, and link the files together by looking at the prefix.

Has it been done or can it be done ?
