Photos in multiple albums

Curious if Gallery 3 (or a compatible module) supports 1 item in multiple albums.
Example: Photo of a Yosemite Falls goes in A) Waterfalls album and B) Yosemite album.

I've searched the forum and documentation and have only found information applicable to Gallery 2 and the Replica module which is not available for 3.

Tags and item links are the only options that I can think of.
