Thumbnails disappeared this morning and directory got deleted

Since this morning, one of our nested albums have stopped displaying thumbnails. We checked and the whole thumbnails directory for that particular nested album was missing from /var/thumbs. We restored it back and it started showing half of the thumbnails, other one's are still missing. The log file shows this error - Quote:
2012-06-10 16:15:53 +00:00 --- error: File not found: var/thumbs/category1/Album1/.album.jpg?m=0 We have searched through forums a lot and came through this issue (http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/gallery/ticket/1443) but the fix mentioned there didn't worked either.
