~ 2yr old version and can't remember which one exactly but it was a 2.2 G2 though..

I know what I did just need to move forward...

- went into the system and ran some of the maintenance tasks like cleaning / optimizing.
- Then forgot while working and uploaded the new version over the top and went to url and got the "Site is temporarily down for maintenance."

Whoops... forgot I left it in Maintenance Mode
Main URL

Checked config - set to false
Tried Manual Logins - No Good
Tried url to login pages - No Good
Tried renaming .htaccess - No good.

Kinda stuck ... Ideas?

Gallery version (not just "2"): 2.2.?
PHP version (e.g. 5.3.3-7):5.3.3-7
PHPInfo Link (see FAQ):http://goo.gl/bJ2FE
Webserver (e.g. Apache 2.2.16): 2.2.16
Database (e.g. MySql 5.1.49?): 5.1.49
Activated toolkits (e.g. NetPbm, GD):?
Operating system (e.g. Linux):
Browser (e.g. Firefox / Chrome): Firefox / Chrome both current

Was able to get into this page:
/lib/support

doing cache maintenance now... all but upgrade / install logs and thumbnails.

Still in maintenance mode though so far

That thread was right...
simply goto <gallery url>/upgrade
and finish the installer...

now just need to cleanup the thumbnails it looks like... but the site is working again!

Thumbnails was actually the renamed .htaccess file... renamed back to correct name and all is back working. (using urlrewrite so .htaccess was a must)

Gallery2 2.3.2 has fixes for some issues w/ PHP 5.3.x, so make sure your upgrade makes it that far.

If you're in the 2.2 branch your upgrade path would be 2.2.x -> 2.2.6 -> 2.3.2
