Images and PHP code inside Header text

Hi,

I would really like to add my own images and PHP code inside a theme's Header text options, how would I do this? I'm using (and like!) the Clean Canvas dark theme, it fits well with my site but I have my own navigation buttons I'd like to use.

The "Header text" box in the admin page of the Theme options would be the right area to put my code, but it seems to parse out the code and do nothing with it. Could I enable it somehow? Possibly with a hack to the PHP code of the page index.php/admin/theme_options ? Any suggestions?
