Installation of modules

Hello,

I am a new user.
I shall wish to know if there is tutoriels to install(settle) modules?

For example if I want to install the Iptcedit module, how I make?

Pardit, you would need to copy the zip file for the module over to the modules/ directory, then unzip from there. Once you've unzipped the file, you can browse to your gallery, log in as admin, and from the admin->modules menu, you'll see a new item with the name of the module, you can check the box next to it, and then scroll down and hit 'save' The module will then be active.

The docs are quite clear:

This module may be downloaded from the codex [1].
To install, extract the "iptcedit" folder from the zip file into your Gallery 3 modules folder.
Afterwards log into your Gallery web site as an administrator and activate the module in the Admin -> Modules menu.
Configure the module: Settings -> IPTC Edit. You will be able to choose which IPTC-fields you want to use an label them. Save

If you have issues with that ask specific questions. "how I make" is not that clear.

But sorry, in my "modules menu", I find not where is the "Configure the module".
Perhaps I search not to the good place.

OK lets start simple.
There has been some people that follow G3 directions but have G2 or visa-versa.
Are you using G2 or G3? If you don't know post the url to your site.
What module do you want to install?

When somebody says:
admin->modules
that means click/mouse-over the Admin link then click the Modules menu item.

OK so now know for sure you have G3.
So XMP is not in the list? I can't see that page because I'm a guest user and only the admin user can see that page.

I have click on modules. After I have a page where there are a lot off modules, who are install on my gallery. But there are not link for config new modules.

What I do after.
For example, I would like install the module "xmp".

OK the XMP module is a 3rd party module:
http://kott.fm/tomek/plugins-extensions/module-xmp/
There is install driection there on that page as well as the .zip file to download.
Basicly you download the .zip file and extract that contence to the gallery3/modules/ directory.

If that is fine then you can refresh the modules page an you should see it in the list.
If you do not see it in the list then you have not extraced the files properly.
Report back.
