Necessity of upgrading 2.3 to 2.3.1?

Hello,

I currently have a large Gallery with a few customizations on it and it's working beautifully! Especially now that I've moved to a VPS host....

After reading through the documents for G3, I don't think it's right for me at this time. However, there is an upgrade available for G2.3 to G2.3.1.

I've had some disastrous experiences upgrading in the past (although, those were all on the old shared host...), so I'm very reluctant to do this one too.

My question is, just how vital is this upgrade?

2.3.1 was an update to prepare for PHP 5.3+
So if you update to PHP 5.3 then you'll want to update then.
