Hi, new G3 user, I like it so far!!

I have searched the forums and elsewhere for an answer to this but have come up with no solution..

How would one remove the photo/image name displayed under the thumbnail in an album, but keep the name of albums under their respective thumbnails? If that makes sense? Basically I only want album names displayed not photo names?

Is there an easy option :) as I don't particularly want to start getting caught up in editing codes.

Thanks

No option but should be a easy edit. Are up for that?

Edit gallery3/themes/wind/views/album.html.php

    <h2><span class="<?= $item_class ?>"></span>
      <a href="<?= $child->url() ?>"><?= html::purify($child->title) ?></a></h2>

to

    <? if ($child->is_album()): ?>
	<h2><span class="<?= $item_class ?>"></span>
      <a href="<?= $child->url() ?>"><?= html::purify($child->title) ?></a></h2>
	<? endif ?>

That is if you are using the wind theme.

Thank you for your reply,

Unfortunately I'm using clean canvas, I think I can see whereabouts it is in the clean canvas file but I'm not sure what I should be changing and to what :S

Small edits like this aren't really an issue as such, its just its been a long time since I've edited and played around with php and html but I remember the amount of time I didn't notice was flying by whilst I was, I used to get carried away and could spend hours looking at a screen and code. I also have a deadline to get a gallery working to what I want as I'm leaving on a trip and wont be able to modify, I just want to upload photos whilst away and be done with it.

FYI - I have just tried this on wind and it is exactly what I was after, many thanks. If you could let me know the canvas equivalent that would be much appreciated.

I have never been able to get the clean canvas theme to work.
You should be able to add some testing text to the views/album.html.php file to she where it shows up and go from there.
Im sure there is <?= html::purify($child->title) ?> in that file some palace so you should be able to figure it out.

No problem, I think for the time being I'm just going to revert to the wind theme for the purpose of getting a functioning gallery together. If and when I decide to go back to cleancanvas I think your solution of testing text will be best in a matter of trial and error.

I did a bit of trial and error on your bit of code actually after adding it to my site, I found the line to remove the album icon next to the album name in this manner, the code now looks like this

    <? if ($child->is_album()): ?>
	<h2><span class="<?//= $item_class ?>"></span>
      <a href="<?= $child->url() ?>"><?= html::purify($child->title) ?></a></h2>
	<? endif ?>

Thank you for your help
