I think there is a few modules that can accomplish that. Have you tried any?

1. http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery3:Modules:code_block#Installation if there is not enough detail please be specific as to what needs clarification.
Here is the syntax of a link: http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_a.asp
2.ehader? Do you mean header? if so: how much HTML do you know? Do you know this much: http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_img.asp ?
If so then you should be able to use the User Interface: Admin -> Appearance -> Theme options: Header text.

Thanks for your kind gesture. As per the installation this is the procedure I followed. I downloaded it. 2. Use fireftp to upload it to the module directory in the server. But when I navigate like this: login>admin>module to check the code_block module I could not find it enlisted among the modules there. What else should I do? Thanks a lot. Site name: www.capstonemoney.com/gal

Concerning the header, I simply want to have an image spread on it, if possible to remove the "HOME" navigating button. The image contains the name and logo of the gallery I'm designing. Possibly I'll so much appreciate if you can provide me with the html code to do that, and which directory should I upload the image to? Thanks for your tireless help.

Did you extract the zip file on your computer or did you just ftp the zip file to your server?

does the files structure look similar to other modules?
Is there a module.info file in the /gallery3/modules/code_block/ directory?

Couldn't figure out what you mean by the "/" of the directory after code_block. This is my procedure:
i. downloaded it
2. After unzipping it I uploaded it to: ftp://capstonemoney.com/public_html/gal/modules/code_block
gal is my gallery3 directory in the server.
Thanks. Much awaiting your professional advise.

@ Dave, words can't well express how much I appreciate your kind support. The no_home_block module worked like a miracle. Much thanks. Please, how do I change the position of the sidebar to left and customize the links. Is there any other module I can use apart from code_block?

So you got the code_block module to work? If you got the no home link module to work then you should have no trouble with the code block module.

Yes. Thanks. The next thing I want to do now is to customize the links in the code_block. The link color should be in red and the vlink color to be pink instead of the default blue, and to move the sidebar to the left. Thanks a lot!

You should be able to customize the links with some css. As for moving the sidebar to the other side, I would try a different theme that has that option. I think the grey dragon theme has settings for left right top and bottom for sidebar info.

That implies that I get payed for this. I don't.
The topic of this thread is 'Add customized links to the sidebar', now you want to remove them?
I would start a new thread and since you are using the GreyDragon theme you should probably look though that thread as I bet this has been asked before.
