The requested URL /index.php was not found on this server.

Hi everyone. I've hunted through the pages but cannot seem to find this problem mentioned.
I'm running a Fedora 14 Server, Apache 2.2.17. I installed Gallery 3 so y family and I could
upload photo's to a private album on my server. I had it running okay but when I tried to set
up an album with permissions I got the "Enable Mod_Rewrite" message and also the "AllowOverride FileInfo Options"
message. I uncommented the mod rewrite section in the .htaccess file and modified the <Directory /> section of
my httpd.conf file to read AllowOverride FileInfo Options. Once I had restarted the httpd service, I got the error messge
The requested URL /index.php was not found on this server when I try to access Gallery 3!
If I change the AllowOverride section back to None, it works again, althouhg I cannot set Album permissions still.

I would be extremely grateful if anyone can help me out of this one!!
