Album invitations

I currently use a third party solution for sharing my albums (see www.mijnalbums.nl) The application offers a very easy album invitation. Within an album, you can select invite and this will present you a list of contacts which you have added manually in the past. You can check the contacts you want to invite and they will receive an email with an authorized link to the album. So no registration is required for persons invited to see your album. This is very user friendly. But, there is always a but :), if you want to see the full image size, then you still have to register as viewer of the album. This is the reason why I am looking for an alternative solution. Since I have a QNAP and gallery3 is available as a QNAP module, I am looking into gallery3 to replace mijnalbum.nl. Gallery3 is just what I need but the album invitations are somewhat awkward. You see the influence of unix (users/groups), but what I want is just to invite quickly from a list of contacts. I do not want to invite person by person or create a new group for each album. Finally I think that logging in is a bridge too far for some of my contacts :) So my questions is: is there a module that will offer such simple invitation functionality, include access to an album by just a hyperlink?

I'm not aware of any module like that. However, I understand your concern, I also like sending links to individual people without requiring passwords. My solution is to use the Album Password module. If you put a password on an album then it is only visible if 1) someone has the password or 2) they have a direct link to the album. So I just put really long complex passwords on all albums I want to share, open the album, copy and paste the url into an email, and send it. All the recipients can use the link to see the photos. But people visiting my site won't even know the album is there.

Thanks for your suggestion. I am going to experiment with that :)
