.htaccess protection breaks Flash uploader

I just ran into this problem with G3. One of my galleries is password-protected with Apache's digest authentication (it's not public, in other words). When I try to upload pictures, the Flash uploader keeps prompting for the digest password (three times per photo!) and even after all of that, the photo is not actually uploaded. The thread I linked to above is pretty old so I couldn't reply to it. Is there a possible workaround to this with the current version of G3? Right now I am using the Server Add module but it's a pain to have to upload the photos to the server and then import them into Gallery instead of just uploading them directly into Gallery. Thanks! |

It's a flash problem that adobe refuses to fix, not really a gallery problem.
We need a non-flash uploader (simple(r) uploader)

Thanks for the link. I guess I'll have to stick with the multi-step Server Add method for this particular gallery then.

nobody has extended it to add more functionality.

That works too, thanks Dave! Not sure how I missed that when browsing the modules ...
