Changing thumbnails

Hello!

I understand that thumbnails are separate .jpg files that sit inside their original .jpg image as metadata.
I also understand that in Web galleries thumbnails are created as a (separate) file that references the full-sized image.

I am interested in the former option.

How can these thumbnails be edited? I would like to show a "more-zoomed-in" display of each image that the thumbnail represents.

Thank you
Michael

Gallery doesn't use the EXIF thumbnail stored in the JPEG. Doing so would be unreliable and inflexible.

Since you posted in the Gallery 2 section of the forums, I'm going to assume you're using G2. On the drop down under the photos, click on Edit Photo, then click on the Crop Thumbnail tab. From there you can change what section of the image the thumnail is generated from.
