Album counter includes photo views as well.

I have noticed something strange (my point of view) with the album and photo counter.
Let me list each action, every action starting with all counters set to 0.
1) Open an album - close the album (without viewing a photo) : Album counter reads "Views: 1"
2) Open an album - view 1 photo - close the album : Album counter reads "Views: 2"
3) Open an album - view a photo - hit up arrow - view second photo - hit up arrow - close the album : Album counter reads "Views: 3"
4) Open an album - view a photo - use the "next" arrow to view multiple photos - hit up arrow - close the album : Album counter reads "Views: 2".
I used action 3 to view 10 photos and the counter read "Views: 11". So every "separate" view gets added to the album's counter as well. Is all this normal ?
I think the album counter should only display the number of times it has been opened. As it is now, an owner gets the impression his album has been viewed 11 times, when it should really be 1.

I guess there is an argument both ways. I don't have a strong opinion. What if you have a dynamic album and the user bypasses the album view and goes directly to the item? The item view increments. Some would argue that the album view should increment as well.
I guess you can file a bug report of your findings and see what the developers come up with.

Well, in the end it is up to the developers to decide of course to follow my point of view or not. But where do I post such a bug report? Here in this forum?
Meanwhile, would there be a way to adapt my album? I mean, could it be achieved by switching some lines of code, or is that to simple an assumption?

Just remembered the main reason why the counters don't make sense :

- Set counters to 0
- I open my album (album contains 132 photos)
- I open photo 1
- Using the "next " button I view all 132 photos
- Return to the album

Now, if it were indeed the intention to add the number of photo views to the album counter, then the result should be : Views: 133. But the album counter reads Views: 2

Hi Dave.

Just to keep you informed : I did register with sourceforge and posted 2 tickets. I haven't received any reaction yet, so I just checked my tickets - or at least tried to because they aren't even there. Perhaps they're not interested ...

I found this https://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/gallery/ticket/1772
and that is all.
If a developer is interested and if there is comments to the ticket you should get notified.

Hmm ... strange. I logged in and choose "view my tickets" and there were none.
Thanks for finding it.
