Returning to Gallery after long time - G3 With Gallery Remote...

So it's been a while since I played with Gallery. One of my favorite features was the Java based uploader Gallery Remote. Makes it easy for my non-technical clients and family members to upload new pix to the Gallery. Please don't bring up serveradd module as that is not appropriate for my use case. Anyway, I found the Gallery_Remote module for G3 and have installed it, and followed the instructions, editing the cookie.php file and updating the .htaccess file, but Gallery Remote still fails to see a valid Gallery installation. Any clues here? (not very detailed - for example, after making the changes and going into Settings -> Gallery Remote, should I still be seeing the instructions or should there be some actual settings available there??? See attached screenshot of what I still see after making changes) After making the config changes, I have cleared my browser cache and the Gallery Remote cache, but continue to get the message: "Gallery Remote can find no protocol implementation at the URL *******" Gallery Version: 3.0.2 Gallery install folder is "photos" under my root domain. The .htaccess file was updated with the recommended settings, except setting /photos/ instead of the default of /gallery/ Any guidance that can be provided would be very much appreciated.
