"Unable to process file" when uploading photos

I just did a fresh install of gallery3 (latest 3.0.1 from this website) on my server, because I could not get the build-in photo uploader to work. After making the necessary backups I dropped all tables and started over. Unfortunately, this didn't solve anything. While I have been using gallery3 for quite a while now, I have never used the build-in uploader so I'm not sure if it has ever worked. I used the server add method, but I don't want other users to be able to use this. Therefore it would be great if I got the build-in photo uploader to work. Anyway...

Added the local.php file to the /gallery dir as suggested, to get some debug info. When uploading a photo, it shows me the error "unable to process file". I searched these forums for this problem and read a few topics. This topic suggests that it might be the graphics toolkit. Gallery3 is now configured to use GD. While ImageMagick is also installed on the system, gallery3 does not see this.

I'm not sure what is going on here. I tried uploading three files, one at a time. Of course /gallery/var is chmod 777 before install and I think /gallery/var/tmp should be used as a temporary directory.
Server add still works.

PLEASE HELP-i read yesterday and tomorrow in the forum but nothing-i will be stupid

on the ftp in the album folder are the pictures but in the gallery are they not visible. when i go to Wartungsmodus they are 22 Pictures to recover or repair but the status of Repairing dont go.exif dates going.
