Gallery version (not just "2"):3.0.1

Hi,

I have a gallery 2 website whose database has crashed long ago, with no possible recovery, and no backups, so, yes, we have to forget about its database.

Fortunately, all the photos are still present on the server in the dedicated directory.

I would like to install a fresh new gallery 3 on the web server and to import all of the existing photos from the previous G2 install. This would mean to reindex all the photos in the G3 database, of course, forgetting all users, comments etc. on the server, photos are within /photos directory and new G3 will be inside of /gallery directory
Is this possible ?
if so, how ?
I ve done searches, but did not find suitable answers.

thanks for info
