Stopping mysql-server failed when powering off

I have been having this little problem ever since I installed G2 about a year ago, but did not realize the error originates from here. Here is the error:
Whenever I shutdown my computer, one error says "stoppong mysql-server, mysqld failed". It then went on to stop all processes, and says "failed", but it went on to power off.

I recently reinstalled linux, imported the G2 mysql database. It shuts down properly and fast. But, after I installed G2, the above error occurs, and it takes a longer time to shutdown.

Where could I have gone wrong? Other than this error, everything works properly in G2.
