Hi all

I am a complete novice when it comes to PHP scripts so forgive me for any ignorance my questions may suggest. I was wondering if there was a module or program that can be run on the server (gallery is installed on a NAS box) to add images that are also stored on the same server. I have tried to import photos that are stored in a shared folder numerous times, but have ended up with some sort of error; whether its a LOCK error or a timeout, the end result is having to try again.

Ideally a server side program that simply adds all supported photos, including creating the thumbnails, from a specified local folder. So far, I have been attempting to import the images using the "add items from local server" feature. This works on a single folder, but not on the hundreds of folders and 10s of thousands of photos I plan to import.

My aim is to have the NAS box act as a photo server for my family and friends and so the appeal of having my own photo gallery is immense!

Any ideas or suggestions as to how this can be done with modules, scripts, programs or otherwise would be greatly appreciated.
