Specific permissions for Replica module

I am looking for a way to modify the Replica module so that is allows me to add specific permissions to individual albums and images.

Instead of requiring that the user be able to add images to an album, I want a separate permission that will allow them to copy an image there, but not upload directly.

And the image has to be one that they own, or have permissions to replicate.

So basically a couple of new permissions like replica.copyTo and replica.copyFrom. Or something like that.

I have looked at other modules that I know add/remove their own permissions (the cart module is the first I thought of), and it uses a GalleryCoreApi::registerPermission command.

To be honest, I am not comfortable doing something like this, and I was wondering if anyone else may have yet.
