Quick upgrade question

Gallery version (not just "2"): 2.2.5
PHP version (e.g. 5.1.6): 5.2.14
PHPInfo Link (see FAQ):
Webserver (e.g. Apache 1.3.33): 2.2.16
Database (e.g. MySql 5.0.32): 5.1.47-community-log
Activated toolkits (e.g. NetPbm, GD):?
Operating system (e.g. Linux): Linux
Browser (e.g. Firefox 2.0): IX8

I was advised to upgrade from 2.2.5 to the next ver. in line & progress.
Fantastico wants to install from 2.2.5 to 3.0
Do you think this will work? It appears to me it is going to delete my existing gallery (losing any pics. now available)

Upgrading with fantastico would most likely ruin your gallery as you suspect. Use the files from THIS LINK instead to go from 2.2.5 to 2.2.6.
