This seems like such a simple feature, that so many people have asked for? i agree it's a good feature request. but there are many good requests. but it doesn't seem to be as popular as you might think. -------------- |

Thank you guys for RC2. I just was hoping for 2 things: 1. Can the theme developers kindly make "Send as eCard" link really prominent when eCard is enabled? My users still ask where that eCard link is (particularly in the Carbon template). The Matrix template is ok but the "Send as eCard" link should be as visible like the navigation buttons. 2. Google Adsense Module? Please! |

> 1. Can the theme developers kindly make "Send as eCard" link really prominent when eCard is enabled? they always could and you as an admin can easily edit .tpl files to do that as well. > 2. Google Adsense Module? Please! no official one. but i saw some user-contributed instructions. maybe use the site's search function to find them. -------------- |

feedback: Using the new preinstaller (2.2-rc-2), to perform a "virgin" Gallery install on my website. I edited the script to add password phrase, ftp'd it up, and then upon loading the preinstall.php wth firefox 2.0.2 and entering the password, I see this message atop the resulting page: Notice: Use of undefined constant CURLINFO_MAXREDIRS - assumed 'CURLINFO_MAXREDIRS' in /home/roncarmi/public_html/texasarchery/preinstall.php on line 733 ignoring this and proceeding (should I be worried? ) Ron |

next step...choosing to download the latest candidate for release causes the same error message.... Notice: Use of undefined constant CURLINFO_MAXREDIRS - assumed 'CURLINFO_MAXREDIRS' in /home/roncarmi/public_html/texasarchery/preinstall.php on line 733 |

after a delay of 2 minutes, the browser changes from "loading..." to "done", and ws ftp shows a file in the root of the site, "gallery2.zip", of 3524 kb in size. Seems very small, I thought it would be 18+ megs, based on the file that I dl'd directly to my laptop. |

Texarc that's a small bug of the preinstaller with some php installations. you can ignore that notice actually. -------------- |

thank, Valiant - is the file size appropriate for the zip full install file? When I dl it manually to my local it is much larger. |

- 3 MB is too small. the download probably failed. yep, i suggest you go for the normal ftp way of putting g2 onto your webserver. -------------- |

So what date should we look for 2.2 to be out? It took about two months for RC1 -> RC2, will it be similar for RC2 -> release? |

Ikon16 there have been quite some changes and tasks (security audit) between rc1 and rc2, that's why it took so much time. hollyonline no. -------------- |

hollyonline: yes.. give guests only "view resizes" permission, give registered users "view original" permission. watermark the resizes only. now registered users can see unwatermarked version. if you want guests to be able to see a full-size image (with watermark) then you can create a resize with size = 100% x 100% |

I got more details. The default theme is set to Matrix. I tried to rename Matrix. Gallery gets a raw display (like without any css), but when i click on "components" or "themes" in the admin, i get that error : Error valiant wrote:

I have install the itemadd module to get back the functionality of adding photo localy. When those picture have accents, it convert the file name to weird characters. Looking back with my ftp program, everything seems fine with the accents (é, à, etc). Alexandre Racine |

I found it necessary to edit modules/core/classes/GalleryMovieItem.class to make mp4 videos play inline in Internet Explorer 7. I had to move "case 'video/mp4':" to emit an object tag for QuickTime as Windows Media Player doesn't play the video. The mp4 contained H264 video and AAC audio. This change wasn't necessary for Firefox 2.0. |

I installed g2.2 rc2 last night over rc1 in g2.1 and g2. Everything works great but I noticed when checking my site www.lloydspitalnikphotos.com that in IE6 shadow frames look very strange. Gallery version = 2.2-rc-2 core 1.1.30 |

png transparencies of the shadow frame don't work as perfectly in IE6 as in an current browser. that's a known issue. that's IE6. -------------- |

Where can I find the Item Add module? It's not in the plugins list and I can't find it in the download section of the G2 website. I had it in v2.1. |

Thanks, I didn't expect that to be an experimental plugin. Just wanted to add that the upgrade from 2.1 went really well, very easy and user friendly interface. Well done to the team. The only problem is that the blocks in my album page are appearing at the bottom of the page (below my album thumbnails) so the page becomes very long with lots of empty space. These should be below the album description. Is this expected behaviour? |

These should be below the album description. that's how matrix shows album blocks. some themes show blocks in different places. if you'd like to display the block in a different place in the matrix theme, you can move the code snippet (that shows the blocks) around in themes/matrix/templates/album.tpl. for further remarks on this topic, please continue the discussion in a separate forum topic/thread. thanks. -------------- |

Looking at the code I don't see anything that would be affected by rc4, but I went ahead and tried with current 5.2.2-cvs and it failed at exactly the same point. Here is the log: |

Oops, should have reloaded this page before my last comment. After an svn update it is working now. One slight issue in installing the modules. The jpegtran module spewed: Notice: Undefined index: rotate in /XXX/modules/jpegtran/module.inc on line 224 Otherwise it installed nicely. Thanks. |

Perhaps an RTFM, but I am having a hard time getting thumbnail cropping to crop square thumbnails correctly. It is confusing because the stated aspect ratio doesn't appear to refer to the thumbnail you are creating. As in: http://lerdorf.com/crop1.png It seems counterintuitive to not get a square thumbnail out of those steps. If instead you select a 6x4 portrait aspect ratio you get a square thumbnail that doesn't match the shown region, like this: My Graphics toolkit priority is set to NetPBM, GD Debian-NetPBM version 10.0-11 |

Rasmus I can reproduce one of the problems that you observed. > http://lerdorf.com/crop3.png this happens when the "square thumbs" module is active. i consider this a bug. as you say, even if the square thumb is active, it's counter-intuitive if the result is a square thumb when using a non-square shape when cropping a thumbnail manually. > http://lerdorf.com/crop2.png i can't reproduce http://lerdorf.com/crop2.png thought. square thumbs work for me whether the square thumb module is active or not. -------------- |

Just a minor observation: the DHTML album select list is a different sort order to that of the root gallery in Firefox, but in IE7 it's OK. |
