[SOLVED] G2 imported comments not working

I imported a Gallery2.3.1 installation into Gallery3. The photos imported ok but not the comments.
I can enter a new comment but the originals do not show up.
Am I missing something obvious?

What is in your import logs?
gallery3/var/logs

Found it. I had the comments turned off in Gallery2 so when I did the import, the comments did not come in.
Turned on comments in G2 and the import worked ok.
