Hi all, I've messed around with Gallery from time to time, but decided to give it a serious shot.

Some structural advise is appreciated:

I have about 30-50.000 photos in high resolution (14bit tiff scans and Canon raw). I realize/suspect that all content needs to be converted to JPG ranging from 8-18MP. The purpose of the Gallery will be primarily for friends and family, and acting as a presentabel backup of photos. There will be limited traffic (after initial launch).

I use a danish provider (surftown), and have MySQL & PHP5 available, but limits in storage (20GB) and traffic (not sure).

Also, I have a very decent internet connection to my house w. 50/50mbit, and a QNAP 410 NAS in DMZ - at home I have no limitations in storage (4TB) nor traffic.

So, I can't store all my photos at provider, and I'm worried about the compute capacity on my NAS for DB load.

How would you advise me to set up??

Primary website at provider, with Gallery as subdomain at home - possibly with remote MySQL back to Provider??

Everything at home?? Everything at provider (/var at home??!)

Looking forward to hear you advise - Kim Bjoern
