IMHO, the slider way feels better than multiple-rows of thumbnails.. but it still a nice work :)

I've just found this: http://code.google.com/p/showcase-slider/, which looks interesting. Maybe you can do something with it?

@mamouneyya: It is not related to module discussed here. I was just looking for the option to bring similar functionality from G2.
While showcase-slider is interesting concept, i do not know yet where to apply it.

Well. Surely I mean something like this, by just 1-row height. It will be amazing in a sidebar block!

It's just another way to show the photos beside.

Dear Serge D!

I like it a lot, but would like to suggest thumbs to be cropped to fit into the square shape rather than squeezed into a square shape (loss of aspect ratio!!)

Kind regards

Hi!

I also noticed, that the whole sidebar disappeared occasionally (but reproducible) when the module is activated. (G3 RC1)

Kind regards,

As soon as we would get support for square crop or resize by smallest dimension.

when it happen, could you check the log to see if there are any errors pointing to a possible problem?

I have the same issue as h_s. It is just with certain photo's, most of the time it works but with a few photo's the sidebar doesn't show anymore.

no need for sarcasm :-)

how can I make it more detailed:

*) On G3RC1

*) Activate the thumb navigator module

*) go into an album and click through the images, starting at the first image

*) at the 4th image, no sidebar is displayed

--> this happened to me in all albums except for one with only 5 images in it. (the other albums contain more than 5 images)

have a nice weekend

I hadn't tried Thumb Navigator before, so gave it try. Looks interesting. As Serge knows I'm using his Grey Dragon theme. With it the Thumb Navigator disappears if the "photo" is a movie. Also occasional black mostly black page. I won't bother with steps too reproduce, because it obvious that a few other things need to be fixed and just threw this in here for Serge to be on the lookout for. If it continues after updating, I'll repost.

Also a comment here about the module: http://gallery.menalto.com/node/91519?page=6#comment-339754

Thanks for all your work Serge and floridave too.

  • Fixed issue with 4th item being selected

Was showing some pictures on my own and stepped on the issue, so it is fixed.

Hi Serge D,

I recently installed it and find it most useful. Thanks for that. But I have 2 feature requests.

1. Is it possible to highlight the actual pic, e.g. with a coloured border?

2. Is it possible to show more than 9 thumbs? Where can I set this?

Thanks in advance,

Stephan

@stephan123: 1) it is highlighted - .g-navthumb.g-current rule in css under modules/thumbnav/css/
2) not on this time. I am planning to make it configurable

Hi Serge!
Nice work:D

Is it possible to get the thumb nav under the photo? Like a horisontal block?

Perhaps a check box for that in the admin area of the thumb nav would be possible as well?:D

Neat component, but RC2 appears to have broken it. It was working fine prior to the upgrade.

Hi Serge D

after reporting a number of little flaws in your great graydragon, now your fine module thumbnav is under fire ;-)

Well bugs... None!
Suggestions: One ;-)

It would be nice to have an <- and -> indicator before the top left and behind the lower right image. If you choose to display 9 images, actually only 7 will be displayed. The eights and the ninth will be the "Click here to see the next few thumbs". When there are less then selected pictures or your are at the beginning or end of an album, then on or both of these buttons are obviously not required.

It would be very cool if this would happen without a page reload (Like navigation carousel does).

Thanks again for enhancing G3 with your great theme/plugins!

Cheers
Bjoern

1.3 is broken in Gallery 3.01

Thumbs are displayed in column of 1 not in column of 3 as before

1.2 seemed to work in Gallery 3.01, but I updated to 1.3 foolishly...

now I can't find the version 1.2 anywhere to roll back.

Using widewind_click4next theme

ThumbNav worked in the theme "widewind_click4next" in 3.00 but not 3.01

have you got latest version of the module?
or to go futher, do you see any js errors reported by the browser?
if js is not initialized properly, there would be no functionality

Here with both Grey Dragon and Gallery Wind I get only one column. Before upgrading to 3.0.1 it display 3 columns.

Well, for one you are using very old version of the theme
Two, I do not see some of the CSS which should be present for the thumb's img element. have you done some changes there?
do you have latest version of the module? there were some changes to work properly in 3.0.1

For the theme I don´t have realized that the version are "old".
Two... no change are made but maybe in the update of the gallery 3.0.0 to 3.0.1 something goes wrong.
The module I think is the latest because I have downloaded the version from here (1.3).

I´l go check if I update the theme to see if everything work well after.

EDIT:

After update the theme everything seems to works fine now.

Thanks Serge D.

A couple of requests:
1. Ability to put the thumb navigator under the photo (i.e. outside the sidebar). Conversely, some may want to put it above the photo.
2. Right/left "buttons" to scroll through more photos, esp. if it is outside the sidebar.
3. Ability to switch on automatic timed slider (e.g. jShowoff...you can set whether slider is timed or manual)

Also a question: do you resize the thumbnails (i.e. create small size thumbnail files) or do you just show the 200px thumbnails in smaller size. What are the advantages/disadvantages of each approach?

1. I rather it be handled with proper sidebar management - 2 sidebars anyone?
2. yes, I've seen implementations like that.
3. ? - for navigator?

no, I do not create special thumbs, regular thumbs are used

That would make terrific sense if just like the sidebar management drag-drop, we had a whole layout management drag-drop, with left/right sidebars, header, footer, main content area and top/bottom bars that we could stick modules into. But I don't suppose that will the light of day anytime soon :-(

Thumb Navigator only displays one column for me. I also have no borders, current image or transparency affects - it's almost like thumbnav.css is completely ignored. I can delete or modify the file with no affect. Any thoughts or help appreciated. Gallery 3.01, Thumb Nav 1.7.

well, by looking at the page code, you have modified default theme flow and it is not in compliance with 3.0.1 requirements (hint: css aggregation)
you do not invoke code which would otherwise insert necessary CSS reference
as result, you get what you get

Thanks for the clue I'm hunting... but not sure where code inserts CSS other than page.html.php.

it is part of page.html.php
path you can take is to compare your version and one from wind theme
you will see where differences are
