Hello all,

I started modifying Wind theme as just-for-fun modifications for my family site, but I decided later to share the result so anyone can use it. I was looking for something darker, have more contrast, and something more special. I think I have had good results (for me, at least!)

Features:
(1) Has an accompanying theme for the back-end admin interface
(2) Modified theme for Superfish menus
(3) Custom theme for jQuery UI
(4) New professionally-made logo
(5) New icons for Gallery core, as well as some external modules (CalendarView & DownloadFullSize & DownAlbum)
(6) Themed calendar page for CalendarView module
(7) Improved user profile page
(8) Improved photo navigation (adding to Next and Previous there are direct buttons to the first and last photo of the album)

The both gallery and admin themes are attached to this post. However, it's RECOMMENDED to get the most recent versions directly from GIT or GalleryModules.com site, as I am not regularly updating this post.

---------
Update (23-6-2011):
- Synced with the latest updates of Wind theme
- Fixed some RTL issues with the admin theme
- Organized the code

Update (23-2-2011):
- Synced with the latest updates of Wind theme
- Fixed some issues

Update (4-11-2010):
- Synced with the latest updates of Wind theme
- Improved user profile page
- Improved comments display
- Corrected some margins
- Improved fonts display
- Removed the dependency on the theme folder name
- The round corners are now compatible with Opera 10.5
- Fixed an issue that makes the photo info overflows if it was too long and without spaces.

Update (26-8-2010):
- Synced with the latest updates of Wind theme
- Added 'First' & 'Last' navigation buttons to the item pages. Code was inspired from GrayDragon Wind theme
- Added full support for SergeD's 'kbd nav' module

Update (18-8-2010):
- Synced with the latest updates of Wind theme
- Everything is overridden in the main CSS file now instead of overriding the whole module files. This way you won't stuck with every other setting in case the module developer changed something. Plus that no need to do anything now. Everything is just overridden in the theme
- Slight color modifications
- Fancy icon for DownloadAlbum module
- Fixed some bugs
- The theme is available in the contribution repository now

Please feel free to add or make corrections as needed.

Dave,
I also noticed that the demo site listed in this thread isn't tracking album views either..this really needs to be looked into.

shemo725,
If it is not theme specific then why post here. Have you created a ticket for this issue if it is not theme specific?

Dave

I have checked this problem against other themes and it is only happening with the Brown Windy Theme.

On the bottom of the page where the navigation buttons are at for First, Previous, next and last, they are not displaying correctly. Im not sure how to correct this.

please check my site to see what I am talking about.

I am sorry. I mainly use GIT to commit any new update to the theme, so I am not regularly updating this post. I've just attached the most recent version to the first post. Please try it and tell me if you have the same problem.

Does it look properly with Wind theme? All modules should look like they do with Wind theme, since this theme uses the same code.

Hey mamouneyya would you be interested in modifying this theme to fit my web site (just the colors) and how much will it cost, how can we get in touch?

Hi

Thanks for this great looking theme.

I've installed it for a friend on Gallery 3.0.1, but I have a problem in IE7. Haven't tried it in IE8. When clicking "Add" in Baskets "Add to Basket" window, the Add button greys out, then nothing happens. The window stays there. If I use the "X" to close the window, and then refresh the page, it has worked. The same applies for all the smaller windows used by Gallery 3.0.1. There is no problem with this in Firefox, or Opera.

It is the Browny Windy theme causing the problem, because if I revert back to the default theme, everything works correctly.

I hope I can find a solution for this, because I really like your theme :)

farmmax,
Please try out the new version and tell me if the same issue still exists. As usual, you will find it attached to the first post.

It worked! Thank you ever so much.

I had the version from gallery-gallery3_contrib_34923c7.zip that wasn't working. Your file from the top of the post worked fine.

This isn't the slightest bit urgent, but is it possible for me to get the font size of the breadcrumbs larger, without it also increasing the font size of a whole lot of other text? I changed the one of the breadcrumbs in the screen.css, but in doing so, buttons, sidebar and a few other things increased size as well. Obviously I changed the wrong ID.

Yup, that's because the updated version didn't get pushed to the main repository yet.

Add this to screen.css:

.g-breadcrumbs {
  font-size: XXem;
}

replacing XX with the value you want.

Note: You have to redo this whenever you update the theme.

Hi! So I installed the browny wind theme, converting from grey dragon theme but when I went to my admin panel and activate the theme, the whole page turned white (blank).

If I go to my gallery, grey dragon is still activated and from that theme, if I go to my dashboard, it goes to the blank white page again. Come someone help me figure this out? Or how do I undo whatever it is I did?

Looks like you used the admin theme, not the front-end theme. To activate the front-end theme, you must activate the one under Gallery theme on the left section in the theme admin page, and not under Admin theme on the right. That says why you cannot access the admin panel anymore, while you're still seeing Gray Dragon theme.

Currently, the admin theme isn't compatible with v3.0.1. I'm sorry for that. I'll update it as soon as I get some time. For now, you can do the following to get things working again:
(1) Go to your Gallery themes folder (e.g. using FTP)
(2) Find the default admin theme folder (called 'admin_wind'), and open it
(3) Highlight everything you see inside the folder except the file theme.info and copy them
(4) Go to Browny Admin Wind theme folder (by default, called 'browny_admin_wind') and overwrite its contents by the ones you copied from admin_wind.

Now go to the admin panel and activate the front-end theme, again, from the left section (Gallery theme).

Thanks for your responce. Okay, so that worked.... I chose the front end theme and not the admin theme. But now, my gallery page is blank? The crazy thing is, I don't know how to get back to my dashboard without going through the now blank gallery page.. :)

Here is my web link..

Doh, I'm really sorry for that! So it seems that neither one of them are compatible with v3.0.1. Will figure that out soon..
To access your dashboard directly just go to: http://YourGallery/index.php/admin, in your case: http://www.lfyc.org/gallery3/index.php/admin

hold on, I don't think it's your theme... upon some investigating, I am still running 3.0 not the latest update 3.0.1. Will do that..

In the meantime, I got back my gallery by doing the same backdoor copying and pasting with the windy themes and starting all over again.. will let you know how it works out..will also be installing 3.0.1

Hi there!

here w/ Gallery 3.0.2, the admin theme shows an issue: clicking the User/Groups tab on top of page will show a white page: IOW it's not possible to edit user/groups w/ that admin theme. Does anyone else reproduce it?

Sorry, I was asking my leave of google translate.
I am a total noob to Gallery 3 and wanted to ask if you can change the background of the theme (Browny wind) from brown to black.

It would be nice if someone can help me there.

Thank you.

I cannot reproduce this. Are you using the latest version of the theme? Did you try to activate Admin Wind theme and see if the problem also exists?

Paprika72 wrote:

Open browny_wind/css/screen.css file, and find:

body, html {
  background-color: #5a3007;

and then replace the color Hex code by the color you want. Black color's Hex code is 000000, or simply 000 (always keep the '#' in the beginning). You can get the Hex code of any color using this online color picker.

Note that any modification you make on the theme files will be lost with later theme updates.

Look at Admin -> Settings -> Advanced Settings. There is an option for the time zone there.

If updating G3 to G3.0.3 and experience issues:
Replace the views/page.html.php in the browny_wind theme with the one that comes with the wind theme.
That should fix the issue until the author of the theme updates the rest of the theme to work with G3.0.3.

Hi,
Browny_wind is a nice theme. I like the colour scheme and wish to use it, except I discovered an issue. It is something that goes away when I set my Gallery 3.04 back to the default Gallery Wind. Replacing page.html.php didn't fix either. Basically, photos nested three albums deep are found via tag search, but are sometimes not viewable when clicked via the search results.
I will attempt to explain...

For photos tagged with "mushroom" contained within:
Main Gallery>Album 1>Album 1-1: photo1, photo2, photo3, ..., etc.

Search "mushroom" results:
Gallery>>Search: mushroom (breadcrumb), with Search results showing pictures of photo1, photo2, photo3, etc.
Click on photo1 in the image results and the next screen presents no photo, but instead only shows the breadcrumb text:
Gallery >> Search: mushroom >> photo1

When photo1 is moved up one level from Album 1-1 into Album 1, then it works as expected. To make things more confusing, it doesn't happen with all images, but most of them. I've been playing around, but with my no-programming ability, it seems so fickle and has been difficult for me to diagnose. Any suggestions?
Thank you for taking the time to read.
