Thanks for the help.
I am a newbie to this as well, but as I figured it, I created one album that has a dummy picture in at and all nested albums are shown only to those that are logged in or those taht you explicitly give permission to (via permissions)
Hope that that helps!
Thanks for the suggestion...but i'm not sure I understand what you mean.
I need the ability to show multiple albums on the main gallery page, and then
require a login for any other albums.
These are not nested albums.
Each login will go to a single album only accessable with that login.
The main page albums are demo only and not related to any other albums on
Hope this description helps.
What I'd suggest (and this is without opening up PHP) is
1. crete an album
2. Upload an image (I use a fortress or lock and key, somehting suggestive) and a "restricted" album nested within it
3. Change the image to "Highlight" then make it hidden
Now, when a user surfs to your site, he/she will see the highlight image and you can put words next to it to show that they need to login.
Hope that helps, if you want to see it in action, email me and I will point you to one that I am in the process of creating.
It is really simple: every user will only see the albums he/she is permitted to see. So probably everyone will see you demo album, but if they login, they will also see the albums they are permitted to, not the albums only others are permitted to see.
But I encourage you to just create a couple of albums, create a couple of users, set the permissions as you'd like, and then login with these usernames/passwords. You then see what I mean, and it'll make things much clearer.
I was wondering how to set permissions or how to do this:
I want a registered user to only view photos in his/her album, and me (admin) to add/delete/modify them.
If someone know how to make this, I would be very appreciated.
