Hi,

I have Image Magick installed, but G3 says that is not. I didn't found any way to configure path from G3, nor any Module o Plugin setup to do this. What am I doing wrong?

Working with Apache and Windows Vista, Image Magick is added to system path.

thanks!

I have the same issue on freeBSD
There should definately be a way to manually setup IM - GD just won't due.
Also a way to configure ffmpeg.

Haven't dug through the code that much, but it looks like they are looking for the binaries like so which convert

man which HA HA HA, sorry laughing to myself

Quote:
which -- locate a program file in the user's path

Works for me on Debian and FreeBDS 6.2, I'd make sure the path to convert and other IM binaries are in your path.

And for Windows, you're probably SOL, unless an option is added to specify a path.

Regardless, there should be a way to configure it in admin.
Most users don't have access to their system to add the path to.
I installed gallery3, uninstalled it moments later.
I was going to configure my minislideshow to read the mediaRss feed generated by G3, but was disappointed enough with the IM issue to drop any immediate plans to work on it or any other type of integration.

There's still lots of work to be done on G3, I hope you don't give up on it. Yes, there are lots of issues, but I can't wait until B2 is released. A lot of things have been fixed. Don't know about this issue or plans for it, I'd have to ask.

Wow suprsider.. you're giving up? That makes me a little sad. You could at least tell us where your ImageMagick install is so that we can add it to the autodetect list (I'm guessing /usr/local/bin, which I added support for in abbecb9e7e6e26d50cae0754d4c6320892b8def5 back on June 24th).

By the way, you can configure the graphics package using Admin > Settings > Advanced

I have the same problem as OP. My path to ImageMagick is /opt/bin/

I just made a change to look for binaries in /opt/bin also.

Could a link be added to that page to send people to the Advanced settings to set the path or a note about these are the paths we check, but we didn't find your binary you can add a path to your binary under Advanced Settings.

I'm trying to avoid overwhelming the user with weird technical stuff right now. We need a help system which walks through some of these problems.

I understand and I really like the way everything is looking so far, nice simple, very few clicks to do anything. Something like "ImageMagick not detected, click here for help"? Is that what you're thinking?
