Hello friends, with some struggles and help from other geek friends, I've built a new theme, let's call it MediaViewer. It's pretty powerful for multimedia browsing and dislay, and I want to open it up for the community to use and contribute tweaks and improvements. Here's the website, please take a look: I've built the theme for the Orochen Foundation non-profit, to make available all the media in their collection. The theme's strength is that is allows the quick browsing, searching and viewing of multiple media types. The theme, a mod. of slider, works okay in firefox/safari browsers, but poorly in IE7 and badly in IE6. It would be great if someone could contribute some tweaks to improve this. There's also a cusomization of the keyalbum module in an attempt to give more search power. If you like the theme and want me to post the .tpl .css and other files, let me know (and perhaps tell me where we should best post the files for good collaboration). I am not a fan of the slider but this looks better.
Please zip all the files in the themes direcotry and attach them to this thread.
Can you create a code page? If you need assistance with that I can create a skeleton page and you can fill in the details as you see fit.
Thanks for the contribution.
Dave

Dave, thanks for your positive feedback,
here's a zip of the MediaViewer Theme (essentially a minor cusomization of the Slider Theme code) and the keyalbum module customization (still named keyalbum). All the rest of the site is built on the default gallery 2.3 code.
Creating a code page would be a steep learning curve for me, I'd be grateful if you could assist.
many thanks
Max

If you have customized the theme enough then I would have created a new theme:
http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery2:Themes:How_to_Copy_an_Existing_Theme
It is not a new theme if it is the same name and people will likely not install it. Hard to get collaboration without others installing it.
Created a new codex page:

please feel free to login and edit as you see fit.

Hi Dave
thanks very much for your help and suggestions. I've amended the theme name as you recommended and have re-attached the edited files to replace the former ones above. Hopefully it can now qualify as a 'new theme' in the sense you suggested.
I've made a few additions to the codex page you made ~ thanks for that ~ and will keep it updated.
Everyone else - please do have a go at using the new theme - it currently works best with firefox / safari etc, and pretty well with IE8, IE7 has a slightly unusual layout, but still functions. IE6 compatibility needs a bit of work. Any feedback, tweaks and ideas most welcome
