Import Groups/Group Permissions

Hi,
I'm using Drupal 6.10 with gallery-6.x-1.0 module and gallery-2.3-full. Everything works fine and how I want it to do, except one thing: the permission-handling of Gallery2... It is way too complex for "normal" users to set the permission correctly and easy. I will use the OrganicGroups module for Drupal, where it is possible to create groups and/or friendlists. I want the users to set the permission for their Albums in Drupal directly, not in the embedded Gallery2. Is there any way to do this? Somekind of call to the gallery-api?

this seems to be a persistant problem. i'm also hunting for an easy solution. maybe gallery3 handles this better? or the 'gallery addons' drupal module? who knows....?
