Hi Everyone,

i want to translate my whole gallery-modules, many of them are talking english and i need a clean german site, my users are old :-)

However, i used the howto to translate and created a new translation for module "favorites" - i used make to get the MO file, but after all the gallery2 dont talk german, its like i done nothing.

I attached my work - the MO translation-file is located in the locale/de/LC_Messages/modules_favourites.mo - i only copied and renamed it to sent it in here.

What should i do, where exactly takes the module the translation file from?

I use Gallery2 RC3.

Thanks in advance!

Have you restarted Apache? That is required every time you change a translation.

There are two "locale/de/LC_Messages/" directories, one in the installation directory and one in the data storage directory. Which one did you put it in? If I'm not mistaken, the MO-files should be in the one under the storage directory.

On a side note, that's not true, at least not for any of my installations.

Stefan,

No difference - both should give you code revision 1571.

In this case i got no idea whats the problem - and why i cant change the language files, or exactly why i cant create one for the favourites module...

Can someone take my favourites language and try it ?

Hoorey! I solved it.

You told me to be carefully with the LC directories and you are right.

I search my Filesystem for LC Dir.s and found some under my Data-Storage Directory which is not /modules/fav... - in my case it is /locale/de/LC_MESSAGES/favourites.mo - this file is only 10 minutes older than my new version, i replaced it and HUHA! Thats it.

For the future and anyone behind me :

It is important to check which LC Files are stored WHERE.

Thanks much Guys - i think that my Problem is solved.

Many Thanks ! Stefan

Stephan,

upload your de.po to this thread and I'll include it in the module.
