Drupal 6.4 and Gallery2

I've attempted to embed Gallery2 into my Drupal 6.4 site but found that a couple of the support modules needed, such as the Drupal Gallery Module, are still in development mode or are only available for Drupal 5.x.

I have several questions:
1. Has anyone successfully embedded Gallery2 into a Drupal 6.4 site?
2. Will the support modules needed be updated to 6.x soon?
3. Should I consider using Drupal 5.10 instead, then upgrade later?

Also, I tried a test run on the install just to see how far I'd get and if it would work at all. I got as far as setting up the Drupal Gallery module, but had trouble with the URL/URI setup. I realize that the main issue is related to my web host, but even on manual setup and after using the Advanced Help I couldn't figure out the right paths. I use Bravenet.com for my web hosting. If anyone can help me out with this, I'd appreciate it.

What version of Gallery 2? I believe only Gallery 2.3, which is currently in RC2 and not officially released is supported and intended to run embedded with Drupal 6.x

It was Gallery2 2.2.6 Minimal with the Image Block module added. It didn't occur to me that the version of G2 could be an issue. Thanks for the info.

Yes, the module is still a dev module, but it works fine. I have it running fine with
- Drupal 6.4
- Gallery 2.3 RC1
- dev version of the gallery module.

I put up a long post about my whole install process on the Gallery Module group site.

It's quite long and nobody has commented on it, so maybe it's not good, but it worked for me and continues to work for me
