Hi again,
Please forgive this basic question but how does one know where to save a downloaded 3rd party module...in this case I'd like to install the "Who is Online" module. But the instructions that I read doesn't mention where to save the zip file to? Then once I download the zip file and extract it, what do I do with it then?
How do I install and activate it if it's not a downloadable plugin?
Sorry for such basic questions...
Thank you so much for your help!

Extract the contence of the zip file to the modules directory of you gallery install.
You then should be able to activate it in site admin-> plugins.
If the docs are not up to snuff, please update then so other can benifit.

Hi Dave,
When I went into Plugins after I put the contents of the file (called modules) into the Modules folder, nothing showed up at all. I even updated the plugin list. Am I supposed to be looking for something called "modules"?
Did I use the correct zip file? This is where I got it from...

Thanks a bunch!

This isn't an official module, so any help you get may be sketchy at best, particularly regarding correct zip files, sources etc - that's down to the module author to look after.
However, what you should find (as for all modules) is a folder with the module name ('whoisonline', not 'module'), which you copy into the modules/ directory. ie:

Updated the zip file on the codex page to remove the modules folder. You should be able to extract the files directly to the modules directory.

Thank you, Dave!
One last question about the "Who is Online" module.
What kind of "if" statement do I put in it to only let the administrator see who is online. I would prefer if the the users and guests not see this info....just me.
heartfelt thanks,
Janine
