URL rewrite with Joomla

Has this issue been successfully sorted yet?

I was having problems with this 6 months ago, gave up with the hope that someone would have come up with a fix. But it seems like there is still no fix.

My Problem:

I have the latest joomla 1.0.15 with latest gallery 2.2.5 and latest gallery bridge (dont remember version), and i'm using sh404sef. I have sef_ext.php which works, and the url rewrite works in the standalone gallery 2, but cant get the two to work together. The main gallery comes up, the links come up in sef format, but clicking on them does nothing. It works when url rewrite is turned off, but there must be a way to get it all working.

Any help would be great.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you guys. I had to edit the .htaccess file in the joomla file.

The details can be found on this website.

scroll down to shockssl's instructions and do step 1, 4 and 5. I varied it slightly, but give it a go. It took a while, but ended up working for me.
