Hi there,
Some time ago I played around with the nice Google Maps Module and discussed it's feature in other threads. This week I finally got around ordering a GPS-log so I can automatically geo-tag my photos. When uploading the first set to my gallery-site, I remembered an old question that I never got around asking: Can I display a Google map for a specific album, only showing these images?
When going into my new album, I have the link "Show a Google map". But when clicking that link, I get a Google map of all photos in all albums of my server that are geo-tagged. Is there a way of showing an album specific map as well? Where only the photos in a specific album are shown?
I run:
Gallery version : 2.2.2
Module / Theme name & version: Google Maps Module 0.5.6
Thanks
Stefan

There is a filter feature, you enable it on the maps admin page and will create a new tab.
There are 2 types of filters:
Manual Filters that simply lets you choose a center and a zoom on the map to show a specific area when selected.
Album Filters are created automatically on the fly (when enabled) and display only items contained in the album and its subalbums. You can also choose how many subalbum levels to include.

Ah, this is why I love this place - thanks!
Ok I found it, tried it and it works! Time for follow up questions:
1. I've checked the auto center and zoom, but it seems that the auto zoom takes in consideration all geotaged photos, not only the ones in the specific album. Any way to go around that?
2. Is it possible to set the standard view when entering an album to be the Google maps module?
Thanks
Stefan

1. In the Google Map site admin page, change the "Google Map Link Behavior" to "Show Map filtered on current album".
2. No. What you're asking for is the Google Map theme, and it's been abandoned (I don't think it works with Gallery 2.2). If I can ever get time to work on this module, my plan is to separate the data from the presentation (gee, what a concept) so you could use either the module or the theme (or both).

Thanks for the comment SiliconFiend,
And BTW, thanks for the effort you have put down in the module! I can totally understand that you do not have all the time in the world to work on the module nowadays and to do all the add-ons we crazy users ask for. No problem at all. Before I put some of my effort into developing something like this, I would not dream of "requesting" you to do more.

Heh. Well, I was actually making progress toward some improvement/bugfixes but then somehow my Eclipse installation got borked and it won't run. I tried to fix it, but the new version (Ganymede) is coming out in a couple days so I'm just waiting for that before I spend any more time trying to make it work. Hopefully soon after that I'll be able to test and release at least a few improvements.
