Do you mean favicons?

You need to insert this into the theme.tpl of whatever theme you are using. I placed mine at line 27 in the <head>.

{* Set the GALLERY2 Favicon for the GALLERY pages *}
<link rel="SHORTCUT ICON" href="URL TO THE .ICO YOU WISH TO USE/favicon.ico">
<link rel="icon" href="URL TO THE .ICO YOU WISH TO USE/favicon.ico"/>

I just want to post a little clarification here, in case it saves someone the week it took me to figure it out (couldn't see the forest for the trees, so to speak).

If you have already customized a theme.tpl file (aka, you changed the original one and put it in a new folder called "local" such as: gallery/themes/matrix/templates/local/theme.tpl, then you need to modify your custom theme.tpl file (not the original one located one level up at the original location of gallery/themes/matrix/templates/theme.tpl). Otherwise, you won't see the changes, because gallery is designed to look first for a customized version in the "local" folder.

Also, make sure it's a valid icon file (favicon.ico, not just a .gif or something) to be more compatible with different types of browsers. You can search for icon generators that allow you to upload your .gif/.jpg/etc file and they will convert them to .ico for you for free.

Hope that helps!
