i cloned the Matrix theme & modified properly. the theme works, but i can't get my logo to appear. i simply changed "images/galleryLogo_sm.gif" to my logo names. the alt text appears, so i know it's looking at the right thing. the image is there; i can browse to it. i've cleared the Template cache.
this is a wee bit frustrating. tia.

thanks, fd
there's a wee bit of a problem, however. on the page you reference, which i used originally, the directions are thus
1. make /templates/local
2. place copy of theme.tpl in there & edit that file to point to new logo
this page has a link to "Editing Templates" -- and it has different directions
1. make /templates/local
2. place copy of theme.tpl in there & leave it alone
3. edit original of theme.tpl
if i go the 2nd way, i get the original Gallery logo.
if i follow the 1st set of directions, as you suggest, i get my alt text but no image. even after running template cache clear.
this is at projectcroos.com/gallery/.
but the image is there to be seen.
here is the text from my modified theme.tpl (in templates/local)
so as far as i can tell, the program has chosen to ignore my logo out of sheer spite. ah well.

Your template is looking for this image:
http://projectcroos.com/gallery/images/project-croos.gif
and cant find it there.
The directions in: Editing Templates don't say 'leave it alone it says:
'Copy the original tpl into the local directory and edit the copy.'
Perhaps it should say:
'Copy the original tpl into the local directory and edit the copy, in the local folder/directory'?
If these directions don't make sense then please edit them so they do. The documentation is for the users by the users.

my trouble is that i've tried it both ways, to no avail. i did edit the copy in the local directory. i'll give it another try this afternoon. probably delete my theme, clear things out and start clean. (it's easy to get muddled after a few tries that seem to go nowhere.)
and then i will clarify the directions, based on what i find. i didn't realize i could do that. i'll happily do so; thanks for letting me know.

All you need to do is copy this image:
http://projectcroos.com/gallery/themes/croos/images/project-croos.gif
to this location:
http://projectcroos.com/gallery/images/project-croos.gif

thanks. i wasn't aware of the Gallery syntax being used (being a Drupal guy myself). now that it's working, it's pretty sadly obvious!
the guide does need clarifying; i'll get that later.
thanks again.
ps, you ever meet GatorDave? he's gotta be a cousin (unless you're a Seminole, or 'Cane, or one of them other critters)

ok, i modified that page. please let me know what you think.
i found it easier to place my image in the image folder within the theme itself. that's how i wrote things. for one thing, if the higher-level image folder is overwritten in an upgrade, the logo is not touched.

I'm from Canada, just use to live in Florida. Never did get to a Gator or Seminole game.
Looks good, now all you have to do is change the template to have the image link to your home page.
