Hey guys, I would like to be able to use images from the users gallery, as their profile pic. So say someone has 4 images in their gallery, they can just select the option "set as profile pic" or something of that sort. Pretty much bypassing the drupal profile image. Has that been done and I just can't find it?

In principle this should be possible. However the image in Drupal's user profile generally shows the user him/herself or an avatar that identifies/represents the user. If you choose to have images from the user's albums showing up this is no longer corresponds to this idea! I suggest you create a custom block in Drupal that displays a random image (from the user albums) on the profile pages instead.

I think it is the same idea really, just instead of having 2 areas for images for the user, there is only one gallery. Most social networking sites I have used do it this way. I think facebook is the only one that has the 2 separate (and I dont like it really). I don't see how it doesn't correspond. A user can upload any image as their profile pic, or can use an avatar that isnt them as their profile pic. How is that any different from using any image from your gallery as a profile pic?

Do you think it is sufficient to use images from the 'user album' plugin for the profile? If so, this can be implemented easily, I think. Other options must be investigated first, but AFAIR there is no API call to fetch all items owned by a particular user (with permission check, etc.) in G2.

I'll have to look into that plugin. Not sure really if that will do it.
I wonder if it could just be a script in the G2 module that adds a button that just copies the image to the appropriate area for drupal? So it just copies the image to the location where drupal stores the profile pic?

IS there a profile picture mod?
If so, I would really like to see it.

What do you mean 'But Why?'? I suggest that you describe your requirements ... What exactly do you need? Or you can post a feature request to the issues queue directly. Maybe as an addition to the new gallery_profile module of the 5.x-2.x package!?
