Users moved from pending status to approved automatically?

	*PLEASE NOTE: I AM NOT A DEVELOPER. My client went in to approve users on the "pending" list. When she did so, the site broke and now her pending list is gone. From what I can tell, they have been erased from the database. Is there a bug or any reason this might happen?
