I ran into some problems where only I could really use my Gallery. I could access and use from internal ip, external ip and dydns, but no one else could get very far. So started upgrading some plugins, installing eaccelerator, optimizing,.... bunch of stuff. Enabled all debug,... and couldn't find anything different from mine to theirs. Anyway, some of the
plugins got upgraded to a version that when finally updated Gallery to 2.2 from 2.1 the version of some plugins like Exif/Iptc, thumbnail Manager, size limit, Captcha were higher than the ones could get from upgrading with 2.2.
The problem was though that it only gave me a choice of upgrading, but would fail. I couldn't uninstall, deactivate,... nothing. I found the only solution that worked was to go into Gallery server and delete the module folder. Then could update the list of available plugins and install it. Then activate it. That worked.
Then also noticed that when upgrading plugins on the 'Get More Plugins' tab page, that even though installed the latest and versions showed that, that the only option there was to upgrade and the icon on the left was the same thing (upgrade). Even reclicking on the 'Update Plugin List' didn't have any effect. Infact just went back there to look and they still show upgrade. I also tried removing the experimental upgrades from the list and that had no effect either. Just had to look at the versions and ignore the upgrade stuff.
Also could not upgrade all the plugins with the 'Upgrade All' button. Something would always fail. Found out when upgrading them individually that could just try again and would pass next time. So maybe a skip this update and continue button would be nice when one fails. Could have just been the server was busy. I could have just hit the upgrade button a few more times, but wasn't sure that it would finally work on upgrading until did the couple that failed at first on the individual upgrades.
Oh, yes, I went thru the upgrading the core and there were a few problems with it and matrix theme and something else, but didn't write them down, just worked thru it.
Otherwise Gallery seems to be working great now. Really like that eaccelerator, seems snappier not. Hopefully whatever was causing my other problem before started upgrading are
gone also. Before I upgraded I was told by someone that they got on and everything seemed to be working fine. So should be even faster now. Not sure what caused my original problem that had me spending all day trying to fix the server.
