Hello,
I need a good software product that can convert video, between the most popular formats. I searched on Google and found an overwelming offer, some free and some paid; but I am interested in your personal suggestions, something that you use and are satisfied with!

Flash video is one option which is becoming more and more popular. Most serious video encoding/production studios use hardware encoders. As desktop computers have become so much more poerful now you can use programs like Canopus Procoder, Media Cleaner Pro, etc. Final cut pro has an excellent encoding app built in. Windows Media Encoder is free and encodes from certain video sources into WMV files.

It sounds like an excelent product, and I found Amic Video Converter http://www.amicutilities.com/video-converter/ which has excelent compression and a very easy to use interface. I will still check a few other before I decide which one I will use on the long term! Thank you!

There's also the freeware Super. http://www.erightsoft.net/SUPER.html
It has a crappy website, but it converts pretty much anything including flash.

If you are looking for freeware you might want to try Macromedia's Flash support pages...they often have links to other useful sites
