Can't change background on main Gallery Page

Is there a way to change the background on the main Gallery page, I can change it on the rest of the albums using the "properties" button but on the main page the link in not available.

G1.6 will allow you to have different skins (theme) for the main page.
You can change the body tag in the css you are using to give it a background.
